Are you looking for some finger licking, knee slapping, tummy rubbing soul food? Esther's Cajun Cafe is the place to be, it's a must you check them out.
The tradition of soulful cooking has long since been in Esther’s blood line. Esther’s great-grandmother, Mary Lewis, took pride in living off the land, and was known as the master of country style cooking. Gladiola Lewis, Esther’s mother, developed expert skills in Cajun style cuisine. Both Momma Lewis and Mary Lewis believed in passing their recipes on to the next, generation. Growing up, Esther faced much opposition, but never let anything distract her from her dreams. To become an entrepreneur was her sole aspiration, but cooking exceptional Cajun Soul Food was embedded in her soul.
Esther has always wanted to provide an ambiance of fellowship and economic empowerment to the community through her soulful Cajun style cooking and philanthropy. She has used her restaurant to give back to the community through various organizations such as Boy Scouts of America, Booker T. Washington High School, the Studewood Cobras Little League Football Team, the GENTS Organization, Independence Heights Community Health Center, The Lady League & Gents, Inc. and many more. She also donates food to the homeless, groups and organizations for special events. Esther has received many awards from the community in honor of her charitable efforts and many editorial praises for her amazing food.
Esther’s Cajun Café was established July 22, 2008. Over the past 7 years, the restaurant has experienced exponential growth which would not have been possible without the help and support she has received from her loving family. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients daily and cooked with special spices that are Esther’s personal secret. You will find yourself creating opportunities to come indulge in the vast selection of entrees, sides, and desserts. A few of Esther’s specialties consist of mouth-watering mustard greens, scrumptious sweet potatoes, and delectable oxtails. While those items add to the multifarious weekday menu, you are guaranteed to find yourself delighting in the extraordinary weekend menu that spotlights an array of Cajun classics such as Louisiana style gumbo, crawfish & shrimp etouffeé, and their famous Cajun fried chicken. The food is incomparable and it is prepared fresh daily. Come join the family and treat yourself at Esther’s Cajun Where the Food is Amazin’!
