As the largest and oldest Historically Black Private School in the United States, Imani is dedicated to providing academic excellence with a faith-based foundation. Serving students from pre-K through middle school, the school fosters cultural pride, leadership, and educational empowerment.
The Journey to Education Leadership
For Patricia Hogan Williams, education wasn’t just a career—it was a calling. With over 40 years of experience as an educator, she founded The Imani School with a mission to create a nurturing, academically rigorous environment where Black children could thrive, build self-confidence, and embrace their heritage. Despite the challenges of running an independent school, her unwavering dedication has propelled Imani to national and international recognition.
